Stephanie Steen, Ed.S., has over 15 years of experience in education, most recently as a K–8 principal in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is passionate about closing the research-practice gap so that all children have equitable educational opportunities, and she understands the power of mentoring programs for teachers. When Stephanie began to think about her school’s new teacher mentoring program as a retention strategy, teachers reported feeling engaged and supported, and her school experienced nearly 100 percent teacher retention.
