I’ve taught mindfulness education in schools, community centers, and yoga studios for the past 15+ years. In 2009, I cofounded Shanti Generation in response to a need for youth-centric yoga and mindfulness resources. We merge simplified yogic techniques in a progressive, developmental style of education that meets social, emotional, mental, and physical needs of young people. Through teen yoga DVDs and educator guides, we help teachers bring these ideas to the classroom to foster better learning environments. I studied social justice and democratic education at Pacific Oaks College, as well as two decades of training in yoga. I’m a mother of two lively boys and live with my husband in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California.
