Hi my name is Jason. I don't have a kayak yet, but I want to get into it. I have been fishing all of my life for over 25 years and I love it. I was mainly a wade fisherman but now I fish out of friends boats. I want to get a kayak and I am looking for advice any would be appercaited I have never fished out of one so i don't know if I would like it but it seems to be a great way to fish. I have a couple of friends that have them and they love them. I want to give it a try and get hooked like everyone else on here.

Where are you located?

First step is visiting a Kayak Dealer and doing some test rides to find the right yak for yourself.

Many of good brands out there like

Native Watercraft
Emotion
Wilderness Systems
Hobie
Malibu
etc.

Then make your purchase and begin outfitting the kayak to suit your fishing needs.

Only thing left to do is get on the water and find the fish!

Look for one you can stand up in. I am also a supporter of pedal type kayaks. I most frequently fish where there is significant tidal influence and it makes a huge difference to use my feet for navigation and have my hands free for fishing.
